Welcome to the EAA Chapter 506 website.

506 is a Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association.  Our meetings are held in the Clubhouse at the Johnston County Airport in Smithfield, North Carolina.  We currently have around 50 members and we welcome anyone who may be interested in aviation to join us.

February 2012

Tom Slater will do a presentation on why the World Trade Center collapsed after the September 11 terrorist attacks on the twin towers.  An engineer, he was involved in structural analysis of the building to examine why it failed.

Update on Mort Altman

Mort is in support care, room 301, with 24-hour nursing, for a week.  His phone # 919 674 4301.  The address is:

Manor Village,1995 NW Cary Parkway, corner of Cary Parkway and Chapel Hill Rd.  It is the large three-story building on the left at the intersection of Cary Parkway and Chapel Hill Road.

Members are encouraged to visit.
